干し柿 [dried persimmon]

Hoshigaki (干し柿) are persimmons that are peeled and dried whole over a period of several weeks in winter. The dry winter season makes it perfect for drying. hoshigaki are succulently tender and moist, with concentrated persimmon flavor.

I have spent winter in Japan almost four times but have never ever tried it until now. I have to say, if you ever come to Japan during winter, I recommend you try it for yourself. It’s awesome.
