Lunch at auntie Fujimoto’s – Day 6
It is always a delight to eat at auntie Fujimoto’s house. Her home cooking is definately true japanese home cooking. Her love and soul is poured into what she makes and the flavours speaks to you and brings you life. Fujimoto’s grand daughter Ayumi who also loves to cook gave a helping hand in the kitchen. Tatsuki (grandson) and his girlfriend Kaori also made a special trip all the way from Hiroshima to join us in the special occasion. The last time we saw them was 3 years ago. So we were all happy to meet.
(Long time no see)
Aunt Fujimoto is also talented in japanese traditional doll making and various japanese crafts. She has dolls placed around her home. The dolls are meticulously made by hand and takes months to finish one. Just like her cooking, her heart and soul is poured into this hobby of hers. The fabrics for each doll is carefully picked. The dolls are posed in various positions and speaks to you through the pose and expressions on their face. She also has various objects around her home that have been collected from around asia, her home is like a art museum. It is really unique and fasinating.
We had a great time, but Keishi had the most fun, so thank you Tatsuki, Kaori, Ayumi, and Aunt Fujimoto for your hospitality and thank you for the delicous food. ごちそうさまでした！🙏
